About Me

My name’s Saloni Mistry, I’m an artist from the Dallas area. I’ve always had an interest in art ever since I was a child, but as I grew I started to work on getting better by watching YouTube videos. I was able to follow along and listen to their tips. Along with videos I would also practice my skills using “How To Draw…” websites, and drawing challenging images from Pinterest and Instagram. This broadened my range of art styles, and really helped me expand as an artist. After years and years of practice, I can even finally draw the treacherous 2nd eye. My main art style is realism. I use multiple media, but my main ones are oil, acrylic, gauche, and watercolor. Mediums that I have also worked with are colored pencil, India ink, and colored pastels. I paint both portraits and landscapes. My art has been featured in local art galleries, libraries, and exhibits. I’m going into my Junior year in high school, I will be in AP Art Painting soon, and later AP Art drawing.

3rd place in the LISD Martin Luther King Jr. art competition
